Violetta (born 1906/1907 in Bremen, Germany) was the stage name of Aloisia Wagner, born without legs or arms.
In 1924 Violetta emigrated to the United States and performed in sideshows as a singer, including Coney Island's Dreamland and the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. She moved herself by hopping from place to place on the bottom of her torso. She was apparently able to manipulate objects with her mouth enough to sew, light a cigarette, and wash herself. Violetta wore her wedding band on a gold chain around her neck.[1]
