[edit] Early life

Violet Blue was born Ada Mae Johnson on March 27, 1977 in Aberdeen, Washington, and was raised in Pacific Beach, Washington. She went to North Beach High School where she was a cheerleader. She began studying magick and witchcraft at the age of 16,[4] and was first initiated into a coven at the age of 19.[5]

Johnson attended Grays Harbor College in Aberdeen, WA, where she began modeling nude for an evening life drawing class. She then enrolled at The Evergreen State College, focusing on environmental science. She subsequently dropped out and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she began working as a stripper.

[edit] Career as stripper and porn star

For six months, Johnson worked at a strip club called Tally Ho. Johnson then moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, and she enrolled in beauty school. She worked as a barista at Beans and Brews at which time she met and married her husband. She then was fired from Beans and Brews for sexual harassment, and became a cocktail waitress at "The Million Dollar Saloon". A month later she started stripping at the club and in December 1998 she was approached by a producer for the movie The Crow Salvation. In March 1999 she appeared as an "underage" stripper in The Crow Salvation, but received no credit because it was not a speaking role. While she was filming, she found out she was pregnant and made her marriage legal. After she gave birth to a son whom she named Crimzen she began stripping again. She was working at a club called the The Million Dollar Saloon, when she was noticed by a pornography talent agent named Roy Garcia. In 2000, Garcia convinced Johnson to come to Southern California to pursue nude modeling. Johnson eventually began appearing in pornographic films as "Violet Blue".

She appeared in over 300 pornographic films under the name "Violet Blue", several of which were produced by Wicked Pictures and Vivid Entertainment. The films became popular in Japan, and she performed in two pornographic films with Japanese men. She was represented by the Gold Star Modeling talent agency.[6] Also, she was initiated into the Ordo Templi Orientis, a Thelemic religious organization, at age 21.[4]

[edit] Return to Washington state

In April of 2005, Johnson announced that in May, she would return to her home state of Washington, and that her husband would stay in Los Angeles to continue working for pornographer Stoney Curtis. Her mother had bought a house for Johnson to live in.[7] Johnson expressed that she wanted to help care for her sick father and to give her son a healthier environment. Johnson announced that she would continue to be represented by Gold Star Modeling, and said, "I'll be anxious to come back and visit my porn valley friends so let me know when you have me in mind for a project."

In August 2006, Johnson announced by email that she would no longer perform in pornographic scenes with men, stating her reasons as a desire to be monogamous with her boyfriend, Dick Danger. Johnson gave birth to her second child, a girl, in May 2007, whom she named Clover. Johnson hosts an Internet radio show called Recipes For Sex on KSEX. In July 2007, she announced a "memorabilia sale", offering the clothing she had worn and sex toys that she had used in photo shoots and films.[8]

[edit] Alleged trademark infringement

In October 2007, author Violet Blue filed a lawsuit against Johnson in federal court [1] accusing her of trademark violation and dilution, as well as unfair business practices. The lawsuit alleges that Johnson adopted author Blue's persona and trademarked name.[9] The court issued a preliminary injunction and order forcing Johnson to stop using the name, Violet Blue or anything confusingly similar. Johnson began using the name Noname Jane instead. [10]
