From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Violent Acres is a personal website, or blog, written by an anonymous author. It was started in October of 2006. The author refers to her or himself as 'V'. She refers to herself as a woman, although there has been much speculation as to whether or not she may actually be a man. The author has also stated publicly that she has no intentions of ever revealing her identity. According to the website, the author is a married woman in her 30s. She also has stepchildren. V, the author, claims that she was once in several thousand dollars of consumer debt,[1] which she took drastic measures to get out of.
Much controversy arose when in 2006 the author wrote posts insulting the children of some famed mommybloggers, such as Heather Armstrong or Dooce,[2] as well as the authors of Amalah.com and Sweetney.com.[3]
Violent Acres has also posted many personal stories with anecdotes and horror stories about the author's mother, childhood relationships, and a teenage marriage and divorce.
Violent Acres has enjoyed much success and a rapid increase in traffic due to such controversial posts. The website currently generates revenue through Text Link Ads and other advertising services.
