nonsense

do not reinsert self confessed baseless nonsense to the Virginia Tech Article. thank you Flavourdan 19:51, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

You do not discuss removing patent nonsense like baseless speculation. Flavourdan 19:57, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
At this point in time it was proven that this was a baseless speculation as the speculators themselves admitted they know nothing about the perpetrator and they had no idea if he ever played a video game in his life. Flavourdan 20:45, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Your edit to His First Crush

I have removed the freewebs link you added. First, freewebs is blacklisted because it is an unstable forum site, secondly, wikipedia does not link to lyrics, per WP:COPYRIGHT. Hope this explains, have a nice day! --Dirk Beetstra T C 18:53, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Dude..

I notice you "reverted vandalism" on the Bloodrayne article. Do not misjudge. If you saw what I was doing and didnot assume, you would see I made an enitre article for the characters. Do not assume vandalism. THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 01:25, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Over-zealous VandalProofing

Regarding this warning, please actually look at what I changed (and faithfully edit-summarized). The .png page instructs editors to switch to the .svg format, the table had sub-optimal (in my opinion) formatting, the chemical formula was scientifically mis-formatted, the SMILES data was missing (I usually copy those from MedLine or generate them automatically from ChemDraw), and the table was indeed moved into a different page where I felt it was more appropriate. DMacks 21:08, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

No problem! Glad to see people anti-vandalizing, even if some of the tools take some getting used to. DMacks 21:16, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Waking_up_laughing.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Waking_up_laughing.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 18:53, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:PassTheFlask.jpeg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:PassTheFlask.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:12, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Album deletions

What's up with all the {{g7}} tags on your album images? Did you lose the sources?--Wafulz 15:10, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Actually all deletions of BetaCommandBot's tagged images are suspended until July 1 - there's a lot of useful stuff that the bot tagged. The full talk is here.--Wafulz 15:21, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Why don't you go through your uploads and add a reasonable fair use rationale to each one if you feel there is a good reason for them to be used here. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 16:00, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Before deleting images tagged as "user requests deletion", I'd like to be sure that this is what you intended. Please respond here, so other admins will also see it.DGG 16:31, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

I fee like a retard now - i gave up on trying to keep track of everything..I don't have the time to read 10-20 screen arguments on like 5 different talk pages. Plus everybody seems to ignore me when i try to bring something up..i', seriously this close (imagine me holding my fingers up about 1 inch apart) from leaving this "free" wiki. They're so caught up in being free they are screwing themselves over. It's nice to see that they shut down the bot for a while, though. Takes a load off of the wiki's back. -Violask81976 15:27, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Looks like Eastmain did all the fair-use stuff for you. --Wafulz 20:02, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
and I am very relieved that I thought it odd enough to check. DGG 00:11, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

80's Heavy Metal Song Compendium(Lite)

It's basically a complete (or as complete as I can get it) list of Hard Rock, Heavy Metal genre songs. I'm only doing this, same as doing Wiki, as a volunteer that loves 80's Heavy Metal music. I don't think I could be much help as I can give you a list of songs and thier bands, but it's not in any format other than a listing. Here's an excerpt:

1. (82') Savage - Let It Loose 3:17 1. (82') Scorpions - Blackout 3:49 1. (82') Twisted Sister - What You Don't Know (Sure Can Hurt You) 4:45 1. (82') Van Halen - Where Have All the Good Times Gone! 3:04 1. (82') Whitesnake - Young Blood 3:30 1. (82') Y&T - From the Moon 0:42 1. (83') AC/DC - Rising Power 3:45 1. (83') Accept - Balls to the Wall 5:50 1. (83') Alice Cooper - DaDa 4:45 1. (83') Alcatrazz - Island in the Sun 3:55 1. (83') Black Sabbath - Trashed 4:16 1. (83') Def Leppard - Rock! Rock! ('Till You Drop) 3:52 1. (83') Dio - Stand Up and Shout 3:06 1. (83') Dokken - Breaking the Chains 3:50 1. (83') Fastway - Easy Livin' 2:47 1. (83') Hanoi Rocks - Strange Boys Play Weird Openings 0:43 1. (83') Helix - Does a Fool Ever Learn 3:29 1. (83') Iron Maiden - Where Eagles Dare 6:10 1. (83') Kiss - Exciter 4:10 1. (83') Kix - Burning Love 3:08

There are thousands of songs, so the lists I post to, mostly Metal Boards, MySpace, LimeWire and .torrents are just lists. Others have puts songs to the lists and come up with CD's full of compilations. So, the compendium is about 5% done and endless updates ahead, but your welcome to the listing if it will help.--ZapperZippy 23:54, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Re: Forte

Thank you for even looking my way. I didn't notice that you had replyed before KingBoyk deleted it. As far as templates go, I have tryed to copy Wiki's album and band templates, but they won't work - I have a feeling it's the {{#ifeq things that are messing it up. as far as copying them, yes I legally can. It's all under the GFDL. also, the fact that it's on an otu-of-date MediaWiki doesn't help - 1.5.5 with PHP 4.3.10. -Violask81976 22:51, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for writing. kingboyk raises a good point.[1] Forte seems to duplicate Wikipedia:WikiProject_Music plus add album covers. Is there anything else? The Tours/Shows page doesn't sell me on the project much. / edgarde 23:09, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

It will eventually have stuff on music in general, and instruments. As far as it goes, yea, it pretty much is Wiki's music section wrapped up. A little more lax, but actually, not too much more. I know, it seems stupid to do when you write it out like that. -Violask81976 23:14, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

totally not sarcasm. i don't play that shit. i do honestly appreciate it when someone sticks up for someone else who's getting bombarded--lol, especially when it's me. Bouncehoper 03:37, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

lol, no problem. i do watch my own back, but sometimes it sucks getting pummeled. so yeah, i think this rule is just stupid, esp. the people who are all set against and have gone through every music page to get rid of the word. it's annoying.

it doesn't pay to hurt feelings, but it's ok when people are wrong and not getting it...or at least that's my thought. Bouncehoper 01:14, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

The article Danny Tanner (band) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 04:45, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

This has been such a heated discussion already. Please do not call other editors' actions "stupid". With most of your comment, you focused on why you disagreed with their actions, but the namecalling and the sarcasm actually makes it less likely that others will pay attention to the core of your argument, because it immediately gets others on the defensive. --Paul Erik 03:36, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Wolfbytheears.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:Wolfbytheears.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:40, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Notability of The Finest Grind

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on The Finest Grind, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because The Finest Grind seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting The Finest Grind, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Go betty go.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Go betty go.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 09:24, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:BFMV_SUWOSWCID_S.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:BFMV_SUWOSWCID_S.jpg. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 03:55, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Costello Music

Hi there. Back last April you added a review of Costello Music by People magazine to the review infobox [2]. I'm currently trying to get this article up to FA standards (see here) and it is necessary to know the author and the title of the review. As such, if you still have access to that issue I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know of those details! Thanks in advance. -- Naerii 18:36, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
