Vinnie Potestivo[1] became a partner at Classic Entertainment Group (CEG) and Executive Vice President of Original Series & Talent Development at Blue Scissors Media after a decade at MTV in 2007. Classic Entertainment Group is an Entertainment Marketing Firm, created in 2002, that specializes in Live Event Production, Product Placement and Casting. Blue Scissors Media is a full service multimedia production company that produces and develops original content, media opportunities and strategies for a range of television, broadband and mobile platforms. It's here that marketing, casting, live events and now talent and production work hand in hand to optimize our clients needs..
As head of MTV's Talent & Series Development Department in the East Coast, he was responsible[2] for launching some of today's biggest names in pop culture including: Mandy Moore, Nick Cannon, Benji & Joel Madden (Good Charlotte), Vanessa Minnillo and Ashlee Simpson. He is also the Creating Producer of 8th & Ocean[3], Man & Wife, Aly & AJ: A Sister Act[4], Me & Mr. Jones[5], Foxy and I Won't Love You to Death: The Story of Mario and His Mom[6]. In 2006 he co-created Man & Wife[7] with Fatman Scoop and Charlie Stettler. The podcast has since gained notoriety and is currently being developed for TV and Film formats.
While at MTV, Vinnie closely with the MTV News & Doc, Original Series Development and Celebrity Music & Talent Departments to deliver talent-driven-programming for various MTVN platforms (including, but not limited to, MTV, MTV2, MTVU, MTV.com, MTVFilms as well as a dozen MTV International Affiliates.
Vinnie is a graduate of Wagner College and has worked as casting director for TV, Film, Commercials, Voice Overs, and Print prior to accepting a full time position at MTV in the 1998.
