[edit] Character history

Vincent was a mysterious man that came to Llanview in 2006. At first motives were unknown, but his true colors came out eventually. The town looked at him as a businessman who had some special ties. He had inherited his father's empire and hoped he could build on to the success. Natalie Buchanan came to him first in hopes he would find her boyfriend John McBain's father's killer. Vincent did help her and seemed quite intrigued by her. Cristian Vega also had ties with Vincent. Vega was an aspiring boxer and Vincent was his manager. Cristian was doing very well till Vincent paid the opposite side to drug Cristian so he could make money. Cristian eventually found out and was furious, not just because the boxing commission said he threw the fight, but his hand was damaged! Girlfriend Layla Williamson had been with Jones for quite some time and always was told by others he wasn't what she thought he was. Layla refused to believe them until that night, when she dumped him. Cristian was her friend, and also her sister, Evangeline Williamson's boyfriend. Vincent started to pine for Layla after the break up but finally realized she would never love him again. In the meantime, Vincent's college friend Hugh Hughes had been in a terrible car accident. Vincent visited him all the time. Natalie had lost her boyfriend John in the same crash, or so she thought. During her grieving she unintentionally kissed Vincent, telling him she thought he was John and was in mourning. Vincent told Hugh about the kiss and Hugh got mad for some reason. Then the man in the bed started showing signs he wasn't who they thought he was. Finally the man said "I'm John McBain". Vincent told Natalie, who was ecstatic and attempted to prove him right and reunite with John. In December 2006 one of Vincent's properties burned down and he considered it arson when he found out his friend Ted was killed inside. After two more properties were burned, Vincent began to accuse Cristian, believing Cristian was looking for revenge from the boxing incident last September. Another fire occurred (not property owned by Jones) while Cristian was in holding. Therefore, Cristian was not guilty of the fires, and was released. Vincent said his apologies, and shortly after, Nora Hanen's house was victimized. Soon, these arson fires were revealed to be hate crimes, committed by a white supremacist called One Pure People, or "OPP". In June 2007, Kirk Harmon confessed to the crimes, but he was actually lying to protect his son, former baseball player Tate Harmon. Natalie asked Vincent out on a date, but he turned her down because he and Layla were on the road to reconciliation. In July, Tate wanted to rid of Vincent, Layla, and Adriana. After Vincent planned a romantic dinner for he and Layla on the Palace rooftop, Tate sneaked up and knocked Vincent over the head with a baseball bat. Layla arrived and found Vincent knocked out and tied to a chair. Soon enough, Adriana called Layla and Tate answered. Tate ordered Adriana to come to the Palace alone. Adriana kept this info from Rex and Talia Sahid. Rex followed Adriana and Tate ordered Adriana to tie up Rex. Talia got a tip from Renee Divine Buchanan and rescued Vincent, Layla, Adriana and Rex. Vincent and Layla reunited and made love for the first time. Tate was sent to prison.
