Vincent Irizarry (born November 12, 1959 in Queens, New York) is an American actor. He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 1985 and later in 2002.

[edit] Early life

Moving to Lake Grove, NY early on, Irizzarry at the age of 11, began to study piano, becoming classically trained, then continued his studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston. It was there that he fell in love with acting while performing in numerous productions with a regional theater company. He decided to move back to New York to sow the seeds for a career as a professional actor, soon winning a full-time scholarship with the late Lee Strasberg at his Theater Institute.

Vincent Irizarry got his start in daytime television in 1983 as Brandon/Lujack Luvonaczek on Guiding Light. He was paired up with Judi Evans Luciano and they were considered a "supercouple." He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 1985, but lost to future All My Children co-star Michael E. Knight. He also portrayed the role of Nick McHenry Spaulding on the show from 1991 to 1996.

Later, Irizarry was cast in the role of Dr. David Hayward on the soap opera All My Children, a role he originated in 1997. In September 2006, after almost ten years as David, Irizarry was fired from AMC due to a lack of storyline. He portrayed David until November 28, 2006.

In November 2006, Irizarry joined the cast of The Young and the Restless (Y&R) as the character David Chow, first airing in the U.S. on January 9, 2007. David Chow was romantically involved with Carmen Mesta, played by Marisa Ramirez, who was murdered soon afterward. Originally contracted for thirteen weeks, Irizarry's character proved popular and his stay on Y&R was extended. He went on later to a romantic relationship with Nikki Newman while she was separated from husband Victor.

Irizarry was married for three years to actress Signy Coleman (married from 1989-1992), with whom he has a daughter, Siena Sophia who was born in March of 1990. He has two children with his current wife, Avalon House. Daughter Aria, who also enjoys singing and acting, was born in August 1997 and son Elias was welcomed into the world in December of 2001.
