Vincent A. Mahler

Dr. Vincent A. Mahler was born on 26 November 1949 in Chicago's Edison Park neighborhood, and is a professor of Political Science at Loyola University Chicago . He is also head of the International Studies program.

He received his B.A. and M.A. from Loyola University and his PhD from Columbia University. He wrote the book Dependency Approaches to International Political Economy (ISBN 0-231-04836-X) in 1980. Professor Mahler's teaching and research interests include politics of International Economic Relations, comparative social policy, Western European politics, and quantitative methods.

His articles have been published in Comparative Political Studies, American Political Science Review, International Organization, Comparative Politics, Polity, Review of International Political Economy and other journals and edited collections.

Dr Mahler has twice been a guest academic at the Luxembourg Income Study.

He and his wife Mary have been married 36 years and have three children.
