Vince Malette is the former head coach of the Peterborough Petes in the OHL. He coached the club from 2006-08.

[edit] Coaching career

Malette began his coaching career with the Ottawa 67's of the OHL as an assistant coach under Brian Kilrea for 8 seasons. During his time with Ottawa, the 67's won the Memorial Cup in 1999, and the J. Ross Robertson Cup in 2001.

The Peterborough Petes named Malette their head coach during the summer of 2006. In his first season with the club, the Petes were two points out of first place until Steve Downie and Daniel Ryder were traded for younger players and draft picks. The rebuilding Petes struggled from that point on, finishing with a 24-39-5 record, getting 53 points, as they missed the playoffs for only the second time since 1976. Peterborough rebounded in 2007-08, as they had a record of 28-36-4, earning 60 points, and making the playoffs. The Petes were defeated by the Belleville Bulls in the first round.
