Vinay is a village and commune in the Isère département, in eastern France.
Vinay is a largly agricultural village ,situated in the department of Isere.It is commonly known as the walnut capital of Grenoble and boasts over 175,000 trees.The village itself is very traditionalistic and has family names which date back to the 18/19th century.Almost as famous as it's walnut ,the annual village fete "La Rosiere" ,which is celebrated for four days during the last weekend of August.A village Queen is voted for her social activities within the community and crowned during the weekends festivities.
