[edit] Peacock Terms

The "Biography" section contains NO biographical information whatsoever but appears to be use extensive peacock terms. If these points can be qualified and/or referenced they can be merged into the appropriate sections in the main article, but otherwise I think they have to go. The "Roots" section actually serves as an biography of Vin's early life so why not just keep that and re-name it "Biography"?

Also, "his introductions became more and more zany and funny" qualifies as a peacock term, I think - a more detailed explanation required.

[edit] Neutrality/NPOV

Vin became "the most sought after performer on the Folk Scene"? Citation needed, especially as this proposition seems to form the basis a lot of the statements made / viewpoints given throughout the article.

As "THE Man of British Folk Music" in the 80s" ... citation needed.

[edit] More citations needed

Modern protest singer: "The modern protest singers would appear to have stopped writing because they feel threatened by the protests about their choice of topics." Really? Examples needed if we are to accept this.

"Half the fun on some of his numbers is spotting the story he has told you in the song he is singing" - to quote one review.: citation needed as this appears to be a direct quote.

Para: "The 90s saw an even bigger explosion of interest in Vin..." this whole paragraph needs citations.

Agree with all of the above. I've quickly whipped through it to address some of the more glaring aspects but it needs a lot of work. Mutt Lunker (talk) 22:01, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] content based on vin garbutt website

Much of the content seems to be taken or based on the biography on the Vin Garbutt website: [1]

That would account for some of the NPOV content. The website could be a good reference for some of the more factual content, such as his birth, apprenticeship at ICI, and such, although third parties would be needed for claims about his importance in the folk world.
