Villanueva de los Infantes

Villanueva de los Infantes is a municipality in Ciudad Real, Castile-La Mancha, Spain. It has a population of 6,400. His "Patron" is "Santo Tomás de Villanueva" (St. Thomas from Villanueva) and it's "Patrona" is "Nuestra Señora de la Antigua" (Our Lady from The Old). The pupulation who lives here are called "infanteños".

This is also the capital of the comarca Campo de Montiel. It has been signed by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid as "El Lugar de La Mancha" (The Place in La Mancha) called at start of El Quijote from Miguel de Cervantes. It is also known by been the place where Francisco de Quevedo died, his rest were found in 2007 in "La Iglesia de San Andrés Apostol" (St. Andrew's Church). UNESCO gives to this city the title of "Conjunto Historico Artístico", because of it's beautiful old places. Thanks for it tourism is one of pilars of this economy, the others are the vid and the olive.
