Villafranca in Lunigiana is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Massa-Carrara in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 120 km northwest of Florence and about 35 km northwest of Massa. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,651 and an area of 29.5 km².[1]
Villafranca in Lunigiana borders the following municipalities: Bagnone, Filattiera, Licciana Nardi, Mulazzo, Tresana.
It is located on the Via Francigena, and has maintained part of the medieval historical center. In the frazione of Mocrone is the small church of San Maurizio, from the 13th-14th centuries.
