Recent changes to this article are either inaccurate or misleading and should be rectified.

  • The municipalities of Vilanova de Cubelles and La Geltrú were merged 800 years ago but the name "Vilanova de Cubelles i la Geltrú" has never been used, or at least it certainly isn't used today. The correct placename is as per the title of the article.
  • The wording of the "Vilanova Xató" paragraph is confusing. Xató is a regional dish of which Vilanova makes a notable variant and the Xatonada isn't based in any one town.
  • The earlier reference to VNG as capital of the Garraf comarca was removed at some point and should be reinstated.
  • Reference to the town being a "major" Catalunyan fishing port was changed to "minor", despite evidence to support a top-three ranking [1]

The history section of the Spanish language article seems good and should be translated here.

I've reverted to the original placename usage etc as per the points raised above and fixed some links. If no-one else translates the Spanish article in the near future, I'll get onto it. --mikaul 23:17, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Incidentally, which text has been used from the Encyclopedia Britannica? And what is the "coasting trade"? --mikaul 23:22, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
