Talk:Vilén

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have added this article on the Armenian name Vilen twice and it has been erased. I would very much like to know why.

This name lacks notability. All other articles about given names either give the etymology or use it as a list of famous people with that name. Simply stating that its a foreign name is not Wikipedia worthy. There has already been a VfD (Vote for Deletion) on this issue at Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Vilen and a consensus had been reached, hence the constant deletions. If you with to argue this, make another VfD issue.. though i don't think that will help--SasquatchTalkContributions 03:24, Jun 5, 2005 (UTC)

I was planning on expanding at a further date when I originally wrote the article. I did give an etymology of the name, it means "the Guider" in classical Armenian. Yes, I could add more to it, but I didn't feel that was necessary at the time. I don't understand why people would want to get rid of this article. It is more important than all the dumb pokemon names found on wiki. And it isn't like wikipedia doesn't have enough room for the article. So why is it that people want to delete this article? Just leave it, it's not a POV it isn't a waste of space nor offensive to anyone. If the only argument which you have is that no first names then lets get rid of all the first names. I would like to know what else I could add to this article to make it even better, so if someone could let me know, that would be great! Posted by User:Moosh88

Seems more encyclopedic now, going to remove the speedy delete request and encourage you to fill up those dead links on the page! good job! --SasquatchTalkContributions 04:47, Jun 5, 2005 (UTC)
