Viking Airlines is a privately owned charter airline with head office in Stockholm, Sweden and main ground bases in Athens and Heraklion, Greece. It operates charter flights for European tour operators. The airline was established in 2003 and started operations on 10 May 2003. Viking Airlines has its own flight training programme and aircraft maintenance technicians.

Viking Airlines started operations on 10 May 2003, with two McDonnel Douglas MD-83, with 161 economy seats in leather which are used for charter operations throughout Europe. In 2004 another sister aircraft was added to the fleet and in 2006 the fourth MD-83 was introduced.

Since late 2005, Viking has operated regular flights to Erbil in Iraq. The airline plans flights from Stockholm to Athens and Beirut from March 2006, though the Beirut flight launch has been delayed to April 2006 and was indefinitely suspended due to the 2006 Lebanese-Israeli war and conflict in the region. Viking also operates regular flights from Dublin and Lisbon to Heraklion, and vice versa. Passengers always have a meal onboard, and if the flight is longer than 3 hours, a hot meal is guaranteed.
