[edit] Merge Bikram Samwat and Vikram era
It seems they are the same concept. Is there some reason not to merge these two articles? --Knverma 21:53, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
I have one more suggestion. Why do we call it "Bikram Samwat", when actualy its "Vikram Samwat", named behind King Vikramaditya.
- Check this disambiguation page for details on why. I assume it is a standard transliteration artifact. Scott Swanson 14:22, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

- They are linguistically the same words, the b anv v sounds are in some dialects/languages interchangable with each another (being allophones), so it’s not purely a transliteration artifact. In some dialects/languages one of these two sounds have become prevalent and is used in nearly every word. I see no problem for them both two be merged or continue as two articles, though if they are merged I’d suggest that both the Hindi and Nepali terms be used in the body text of the article. (Whether the letter v or w is used, that is a transliteration artifact.) Kess (talk) 10:15, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
