Vigla

Vigla (Greek: Βίγλα, "lookout", a Latin loanword), is the name of several places in Greece:

  • The highest peak of Mount Kerkis on the island of Samos
  • Vigla, a village in the Arta prefecture
  • Vigla, a ski resort near Florina
  • Mikri Vigla, a small village on the island of Naxos famed for its nearby beaches
  • Kaki Vigla, a small village on the island of Salamis
  • Vigla, Merovigli, a location and the name of the mountain on the Island of Fano (Othonoi) Ionian Islands

It was also the name of one of the elite Byzantine tagmata:

  • Vigla (military unit)
