[edit] Features
The game will use the salvage point upgrade system from "Second Offense", meaning that vehicles will be upgraded through the course of picking up salvage point icons dropped by enemies. Vehicles will get to be a good "25% stronger" if enough salvage points are gained for every category. Each car has 5 different colors, most likely to make sure theres no confusion when people play online and pick the same vehicle. Weapons can now be fired normally, with the classic directional pad combinations for a special attack, or a new charge-up method.
[edit] Arenas
The game will ship with 5 arenas, with 3 DLC arenas confirmed[2]. The official arena's are:
- The Oil Fields - This stage is strongly inspired by the original V8 one, although it has a completely new layout.
- Farmland - Also heavily inspired by the original, the stage will feature the old orange trees and silos.
- Meteor Crater - Essentially, a mix between the classic V8 "Canyonlands" and "Ghost Town", plus "Meteor Crater" from Second Offense.
- Ski Resort - Pretty much the same story as the Meteor Crater, heavily inspired by stages in the previous games.
- Hoover Dam - Heavily inspired by the original Hoover Dam.
