VietJetAir

VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company (Vietnamese: Công ty cổ phần hàng không VietJet), trading as VietJet Air, is a planned airline in Vietnam. It received approval to proceed with its plans from the Vietnamese Minister of Finance in November 2007.[1]

The company is based in Hanoi, and plans to fly to Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.[2] VietJet has stated an intent to eventually fly to other Asian countries, such as Singapore, China, Thailand, Korea, and Japan.[2] It plans to use either Boeing 737s or Airbus 320s, and commence flights in late 2008 or beyond.[2]

In May 2008, the airline appointed Brian Presbury as its Chief Executive Officer.[3]

VietJet the country's fourth airline[4], after Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific Airlines, and VASCO. It is the first to be 100% privately-owned.[1]
