[edit] Article created

This entry was created from the text that was originally a section in the Demographics of Hong Kong entry. It didn't make sense to be a section in that entry. But this entry needs expansion so any help is appreciated. Hong Qi Gong 17:59, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 1980 arrivals

According to HK Government sources, the influx of Vietnamese refugees reached its peak in 1979, when over 68 700 arrived. So barring errors or omissions in the government article, it is therefore unlikely that 100 000 arrived the next year. Can anyone offer any sources to categorically substantiate or negate this claim? [edit] Help with the closing date of Sham Shui Po camp

I've read the source provided on the article that backs up the claim that Sham Shui Po camp closed in 1981. But I also found two sources dated 1989 that referred to the camp as if it was still open at the time.[1][2] Can anyone help with verifying the closure date of this camp? I spent a few minutes searching on HK's government website but couldn't find anything to verify it. Hong Qi Gong (Talk - Contribs) 16:39, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
