Vidya Sinha (born 15th November 1947), began modelling and acting at the age of 18. Her first movie released was Rajnigandha, directed by Basu Chatterjee the movie was a box office success. This was followed my many more hit films like Choti Si Baat, Pati Patni Aur Woh etc.
She quit the film industry in the late 1980's and took a long sabbatical from acting to raise her daughter, Janhavi. After her husband Venkat passed away, her daughter encouraged her to return to acting via television working in serials like Kavyanjali, Hum do hain na etc. She is currently seen on prime time soap Zaara, Bhabhi etc.
