Vidugavia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vidugavia (1210-?) is a supporting character in J. R. R. Tolkien's universe of Middle-earth.

He called himself the King of Rhovanion, but was in fact only its mightiest prince. His realm was located between the eastern edge of Mirkwood and the river Celduin (in Westron, called the River Running).

He was friendly with RĂ³mendacil II of Gondor, whom he aided in his great victory over the Easterlings in 1248

He received Prince Valacar of Gondor when he was on a diplomatic mission in Rhovanion. Valacar loved the country of Vidugavia so much that he married his daughter Vidumavi.

Vidugavia is the grandfather of Vinitharya, better known as King Eldacar of Gondor.
