Template:Video/doc
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
{{video}} provides an expanded frame for video files, including a title and file format infomation. It is designed to be used in situations where the file is of high importance to an article.
Note: if the video is incidental, or is to be stacked with similar examples, video files can be inserted into [[image:]] tags just like images. This avoids the need to specify a headline or other information associated with the template.
[edit] Usage
{{Video | filename = | title = | description = | format = | filesize = | duration = | thumb = | width = | float = }}
To apply it in an article use the following:
{{Video|filename=Name of file on commons.ogg|title=Title of this file|description=The description of this file| format = video codec format| filesize = media file size in MB |duration= duration of video in minutes and seconds}}
For instance:
{{Video|filename=A11v 1094228.ogg|title=Buzz Aldrin steps onto the Moon|description=Television clip of Buzz descending the ladder and stepping onto the moon. On arriving at the footpad, he tries to jump up to the ladder again and fails, but succeeds on his second attempt. After remarking to Neil on the beautiful view (“Magnificent desolation”) he jumps from the footpad onto the surface.| format = Ogg multiplexed audio/video file, Theora/Vorbis| filesize = 4.35 MB |duration= 1m15s}}
is rendered like this:
