[edit] Plot Details
The plot involves the invasion of England by the forces of Napoleon Bonaparte. The Celestial dragon Temeraire, believing his captain Will Laurence to be dead, takes it upon himself to train and command a squadron of unmanned, unharnessed dragons to fight against the French, while the King has fled to Edinburgh and Bonaparte sets himself up in London, intent on depleting the country's livestock and starving out the British armies and Air Corps.
