Victor Mees

Victor Mees, nicknamed Vic or Vicky (born 26 January 1927 in Antwerp) was a Belgian footballer who played much of his career at Royal Antwerp.
He made his first team debut at the age of 17, right after the World War II. Mees who had become a leader of the team, won its first Championship title in 1957, while he had lifted the Belgian Cup two years before.
Known as a gentleman footballer, "Vicky" was at the time a pillar of the national team. In total, Mees earned 68 appearances and he played in the 1954 World Cup.
He won the Belgian Golden Shoe in 1956 while at Antwerp.
