Vicente Solano Lima
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vicente Solano Lima (September 21, 1901, Ramallo, Province of Buenos Aires—April 23, 1984, Buenos Aires) was a conservative politician, vice-president of Argentina from May 25, 1973 to July 13, 1973.
Solano Lima joined the Popular Conservative Party whilst studying to be a lawyer and became a provincial deputy in 1925. He served as a national deputy on two occasions and was rector of the University of Buenos Aires. He owned the regional newspaper El Norte.
Despite his conservative affiliation, Solano Lima ran on the same ticket of the leftist Héctor Cámpora in 1973, acting as a proxy for Juan Perón, banned by the military government. He resigned as Vice-President a few months later.
