Vicchio is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Florence in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 25 km northeast of Florence. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,736 and an area of 139.0 km².[1]
Vicchio borders the following municipalities: Borgo San Lorenzo, Dicomano, Marradi, Pontassieve.
Two famous Italian painters were born near Vicchio: Giotto (in the frazione of Colle di Vespignano) and Fra Angelico (at Rupecanina).
