Vic Grassi (1951 - 2004) (or Uncle Vic as he was commonly referred to by other characters) was a not a secondary character on the US television series Queer as Folk.
Vic Grassi is Debbie Novotny's brother and Michael Novotny's uncle. Until the fourth season, he lives with Debbie. Vic is gay and HIV positive. In the first episode, after returning from a trip through Europe, he found out that he wasn't as close to death as he thought, and therefore in financial trouble. Vic also gave Justin his ID card to get into Babylon in one of the first episodes. Emmett hires him to work at his catering company for a short period of time during the third season.
In the fourth season, Vic moves in with his life partner, Rodney. Debbie, mad at not being invited to a dinner party, gets into a huge argument with him. The following morning, Michael comes to visit, and finds him dead from a heart attack (a complication of his HIV medications). His death causes Debbie to feel extreme guilt, and even go as far as to throw a Christmas party for him in February. However, in the end, she realizes that Vic wouldn't want her to live her life this way, and with some help from Detective Horvath, moves on.
Brian, on the other hand, has several visions of Uncle Vic after his death, mainly after Brian finds out he has testicular cancer. Vic appears in his dreams, telling him if he lives through this, he'll die "an old queen" like he did, or he could die young and get into a heaven with plenty of good-looking gay men. After intensive radiation treatments, and conquering cancer, Vic stops showing up to Brian and in the series altogether.
