[edit] AFI and Soda Pop

Vic Chalker (born Victor Kenyon), otherwise known as "Crush Pop", is best known for his role in founding the rock band AFI as its bassist. Reportedly, Vic did not know how to play bass before he and classmates Mark Stopholese, David Marchand and Adam Carson decided to form a hardcore punk outfit one day at lunch[1]. Vic lost interest in AFI not long after the band's conception, however, and left after only eight months.
He would go on to join Santa Cruz punk band Soda Pop Fuck You, a band signed to New Disorder Records and Bad Monkey Records[2]. Soda Pop Fuck You would find minor success in the local scene, headlining shows[3]. The success seemed to be enough to merit a move to Oakland[4], perhaps to be closer to venues. The group disbanded, however, with only one LP to their name; Timing is Everything.

[edit] Recent Times

After the splitting up of Soda Pop Fuck You, Vic has gone on to be somewhat productive as solo artist "Crush Pop"[5] , though little is known as to what his plans are for his future as a musician.

Although Chalker himself did not play bass on this record, he is given a writing credit on "NyQuil".
