How dangerous is it really? I know there have been several incidents but is it actually any more dangerous than any park or open space at night (espeically in an inner city?). Are we going to label every park or space where crimes occur as being dangerous? An article of this sort needs to balance the history of the park (which is long and interesting) with giving information on staying safe within in it. At the moment it seems lopsided and slightly scaremongering. After all thousands of students walk across it everyday without mishap.

I'd contend that it is relatively dangerous, but then I'm biased because I've been chased across it. IMO it's as safe as anywhere else in Leicester during the day, but at night it's not such good news - newartriot
