This template should be used to link in years that are part of video game articles that have no associated day of the year. If an exact date is known, the date (with year) should be linked in using appropriate date formatting. Otherwise, the year should be linked to the wikipages of "YYYY in video gaming", where YYYY is the year.

This template takes one parameter, a year, and provides the following wikilink for this process [[{{{1}}} in video gaming|{{{1}}}]].

Example usage:

• {{Vgy|2008}} produces 2008 (which links to 2008 in video gaming)
