NOTE: The final subst=subst: parameter is REQUIRED in order to prevent the template code from spamming itself into the target page. This template uses ParserFuncs, so make sure you include "subst=subst:" in the subst call. This requirement is due to a MediaWiki limitation. (Thanks to Patrick for clarifying this!)
[edit] Optional parameters
- title=The title of the game or program, if different from the Page link
- system=The system to which the image applies (Atari 2600, Commodore 64, et al)
- source=The source of the image (website URL, magazine, etc.) - if not specified, the "type" parameter will indicate a default source or description of the image.
- type=One of the following:
- gameplay: Typical gameplay screenshot ("typical gameplay of")
- title: Title screen art ("the title screen of")
- port: Graphics from a port of the game ("a port of")
- boxart: Box art ("the box art of")
- logo: Online logo art ("logo art of")
- character: Art of a character in the game ("a character in")
- (default/other): Generic graphics ("graphics from")
- purpose=One of the following:
- compare: "To compare this game or program to other similar games and programs"
- platform: "To show an example of software on a given platform"
- genre: "To show an example of software in a given genre"
- series: "To show an example of software within a series"
- example: (generic) "To show an example of software relevant to the article"
- (default/other): "To identify and illustrate the game or program in its own article or a closely related article"
- hires=yes: Specify to indicate the image is high-resolution. By default, the template will indicate that the image size is reduced.
- If yes: "No: Image is high-resolution"
- If no: "Yes: Screen size is reduced, though pixel-for-pixel resolution is preserved."
