[edit] Notability
I am of the opinion that this along with all other Veritech-related articles should be merged into a 'list of' article. There arn't that many different designs, after all. Jtrainor 07:54, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'd strongly support that. Jouster (whisper) 15:47, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- One, it's not a "Veritech" design. "Veritech" is a word made-up in Robotech, not in Macross. Second, there are dozens of unique variable designs in Macross (the "17" in VF-17 is not just for show), which is far more than should be listed in merely a "list of" article--such a merged list would shoot past the 32K size guideline. Third, there is a list article for variable fighters already. Finally, as a prominent design in a 49-episode television series and 4-part video series (as well as several games), it deserves its own page (once it's expanded) as much as Springer (Transformers) or MSM-03_Gogg 1-54-24 01:47, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- Springer has been manufactured as a physical toy, used in advertisements, appears in approximately a half-dozen books, and has an article approximately three times the length of this one, written in something far closer to an encyclopaedic tone. This article, on the other hand, is in-universe-perspective fancruft in its current form. If it's notable, start adding some references and prove me wrong, please! I'm inherently inclusionist, but this article appears to have no redeeming merit. Jouster (whisper) 16:21, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- The VF-17 has been manufactured in two physical toy lines (one being transformable in five variations) and four model kits, used in advertisements, appears in three novels...and has a much shorter article. Yeah, I completely agree that this article needs lots of expansion. 1-54-24 17:11, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- "the VF-171 is the most popular manned variable space fighter/bomber as of 2059." This information proceed??? As far as i know there are little info about Macross F. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.103.243.110 (talk) 01:32, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
