Vex Red

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Vex Red were a band from Aldershot, England who merged hard rock with electronica. They were signed to Ross Robinson's label I Am after submitting their demo EP to a competition in Kerrang! magazine. They were dropped from their record label in late 2002 and singer Terry Abbott formed a new band Septembre. Some of the remaining members went on to form a new band Scenes. Ben Calvert is now the drummer with Killing Joke and more recently, Malpractice - which also contains Mark Chapman, ex-member of A and Adam F.

[edit] Reunion

At recent Septembre and Toluene shows, former members announced that Vex will be reforming in autumn 2007. It is however likely that Sammy Lee Tomlinson will replace Ben Calvert as the drummer in the new line up. Keith's involvement in the reunion has not been confirmed.

[edit] Update

It has been more recently suggested that due to the commuting distances involved, a reunion will not take place and Terry will continue to focus on his new band Septembre. It is not yet clear what will happen, as accounts differ between sources.
