VeryCD is an eMule based Chinese P2P media directory. The VeryCD project began in September 2003 utilizing the eMule peer to peer application. It aims to be the biggest, most comprehensive and easiest to use P2P media directory in the world using open technologies. [1] They produce a variant of the open source eMule client and the client had 30 million culminated downloads since its conception. Because of its simple design, low level of clutter and massive directory of popular contents, VeryCD has become one of the most popular downloading resources in China.[citation needed]

It is driven by community; all items are published and shared by the community and automatically published onto the main website. More than 72,500 items had been published onto VeryCD, adding up to more than 30 terabytes of indexed shared contents. [2]

MP3! is a music sharing project by VeryCD that is intended to be the largest music library in the P2P world and indexed by VeryCD. [3] It maintains requirements for the seeder to have standardized MP3 format with ID3 tags for metadata, standardized RAR packing method, album cover and description on VeryCD, no repeat publication of the same content and have enough bandwidth.
