Veronika Zuzulová

Veronika Zuzulová (born July 15, 1984 in Bratislava) is the most successful Slovak alpine skier in recent years. She is coached by her father Timotej Zuzula and Vladimír Kovár.
She started skiing at the age of 3. At 14, she won Trofeo Topolino in Italy, an unofficial children World Championship.

She started competing at at the European Cup since season 2000/2001, and she won 1st place on 21 December 2003, 23 February, 2004 and 19 December, 2006, and 3rd place on 6 and 22 February, 2004.[1]
[edit] Alpine skiing World Cup
Her first run in the Alpine skiing World Cup was on 28 October 2000 in Sölden, Austria (giant slalom). In November 2002, she started competing in slalom. Her first greater success was in 2002 when she became the world champion in Junior Championships. Her first run in super combination was in 2006.
She has eight World Cup podiums to her credit, all in slalom:
- three 2nd places: Špindlerův Mlýn, Czech Republic on 6 January 2008; Maribor, Slovenia on 13 January 2008; and Bormio, Italy on 14 March, 2008.
- five 3rd places: Zwiesel, Germany on 8 February 2004; Kranjska Gora, Slovenia on 7 January 2007; Sierra Nevada, Spain on 25 February, 2007; Lenzerheide, Switzerland on 17 March 2007; and Zagreb, Croatia on 25 February, 2008.
In addition, she has scored 14 more Top 10 places. As of 20 March 2008, she has attended 92 World Cup events so far.[2] Her final overall standing in the 2007–2008 season is the 15th place, and in slalom 3rd place.

At the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2007 in Åre, Sweden she scored 9th place in super combined, 13th place in slalom and 21st place in giant slalom.
