Veronica Deneuve
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Veronica Deneuve is the Scotland-based striptease artist best known for her outspoken opposition to the Scottish Executive's legislative procedures in place from March 2005 to April 2006 that saw the formation of the AEWG (Adult Entertainment Working Group) headed by Linda Costelloe Baker and set up by Tom McCabe MSP.
[edit] Political Opposition
Deneuve's work has mainly focused on targeting the AEWG and McCabe to provide a voice for the lapdancing community against the perceived lack of consultation towards them in the current process. It is unclear if she has been involved in the press statements published in the Edinburgh Evening News at the beginning of April 2006 and what financial or political backing there is with or without the Scottish stripping community for her cause. However it is noted that Deneuve is a public supporter of the IUSW (the International Union of Sex Workers) an offshoot of the GMB Union and that there has been significant wider public support for the issues she has been involved.
[edit] Identity
Deneuve's identity seems to elude the public eye and to date she has provided no visual identification in either the press or her weblog, only borrowed photographs of either Veronica Lake or Catherine Deneuve, leading some to speculate as to if Veronica Deneuve is simply her stage name.
