Vernon Aguirre (July 18, 1945) is a Mexican American banker, as well as the Regional Executive for the California Region of Banco Popular, a Hispanic bank based out of Puerto Rico. He lives in Coronado, California with his wife, Cynthia Aguirre. Their only son, Richard Aguirre, attends college at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.[1]

"Banco Popular is very excited to partner with the L.A. Marathon, which over the past twenty years has become a premier event in this community," said Vernon Aguirre.

"I would tell the people who see our big banners at the Angels stadium that we are not a Mexican or Puerto Rican bank, but an American bank; we are traded on the Nasdaq and recognized by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.," said Vernon (Bernardino at birth) Aguirre.
