Vernon is a town in Tooele County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Salt Lake City, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 236 at the 2000 census.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 236 people, 77 households, and 59 families residing in the town. The population density was 31.4 people per square mile (12.1/km²). There were 86 housing units at an average density of 11.4/sq mi (4.4/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 94.07% White, 0.42% African American, 0.42% Asian, 2.54% from other races, and 2.54% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.66% of the population.
There were 77 households out of which 42.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.8% were married couples living together, 7.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.1% were non-families. 20.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.06 and the average family size was 3.62.
In the town the population was spread out with 34.7% under the age of 18, 10.2% from 18 to 24, 22.5% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 11.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 30 years. For every 100 females there were 91.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.9 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $42,500, and the median income for a family was $43,500. Males had a median income of $38,333 versus $22,500 for females. The per capita income for the town was $13,053. About 10.7% of families and 13.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 21.5% of those under the age of eighteen and 3.8% of those sixty five or over.
