The administration building at Vermont Technical College's Randolph Center campus
The Vermont Technical College is a public technological institute located in the village of Randolph Center, Vermont (in the town of Randolph, Vermont). The College also has satellite schools in other locations, notably Williston, Vermont. The college is a part of the Vermont State Colleges, a consortium of Vermont's five public colleges, governed by a common board of trustees, chancellor and Council of Presidents, each college with its own president and deans. The college prides itself on graduating students' extremely high placement rate, which as of 2007 was reported as 98% placement in industry.
[edit] Student Clubs
There are roughly 30 clubs entirely run by students. Some of the most popular are:
- Student Council (Student Advocating Body)
- The VTCFR (Vermont Technical College First Responders)
- The Vermont Technical College RFC (Rugby Football Club)
- The Adventurers' Guild (Student Gaming Club)
- VTC3 (VTC's Computer Club)
[edit] Student Radio Station Controversy
WVTC, a 300 watt radio station run entirely by the student body, was forced to shut down in fall 2007 when their FCC license failed to be renewed by the college. Shortly afterward, the college was approached by Vermont Public Radio with proposals to lease the station, which were not accepted. At this time, student members of the station are working with college administration to renew the lapsed license.
