Vermont Street is a north-south street located in the Potrero Hill district of San Francisco, California. It begins at Division Street near the South of Market area, and runs south, paralleling the U.S. Route 101 freeway. The street ends when it meets 22nd Street.[1]

A section of the street between 20th and 22nd Street, near McKinley Square, features a series of seven sharp turns. This has led the street to be dubbed "the crookedest in the world" in competition with the better known Lombard Street (Vermont, while steeper than Lombard, has fewer turns).[2] The GPS-guided electronic audio tour guide featured in some rental vehicles identifies Vermont Street as the more crooked street.[citation needed]

Unlike Lombard's red brick construction, Vermont is made of concrete.[citation needed]
