Vermonster
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Vermonster is a large ice cream sundae made by Ben and Jerry's.[1] It is named after the company headquarters' home state of Vermont. The Vermonster consists of the standard sundae ingredients, but uses them in excessive amounts. It contains the following:[2]
- Twenty scoops of ice cream, frozen yogurt, or sorbet (usually five scoops of four flavors or four scoops of five flavors)
- Four ladles of hot fudge
- Four bananas
- Ten scoops of chopped walnuts
- One fudge brownie
- Three cookies
- Two scoops each of four different toppings
- Whipped cream
The sundae is usually served in a commemorative plastic bucket, which can weigh anywhere from 4 to 9 pounds. The cost of the Vermonster varies from state to state.
The Vermonster is frequently used in fundraising efforts,[3][4] where teams pay to compete against other teams in a race to complete the Vermonster. Even finishing a Vermonster is a feat, the attempt is an event and it often requires more than one person. [5][6]
