Vermillion Township is one of five townships in Vermillion County, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, its population was 993.

Vermillion Township covers an area of about 51 square miles and contains one incorporated settlement, Newport (the county seat). According to the USGS, it contains twelve cemeteries: Carmack, Johnson, Johnson, Juliet, Lebanon, Memorial Chapel, Miller, Old Hopewell, Thomas, Walnut Hill, Wimsett and Zener.
