The St. Petersburg Times wrote an article [1] on the uniqueness of Veritas Preparatory Academy in Pinellas County and it was featured in the Neighborhood Times section by reporter Rita Farlow Published February 7, 2007. The article, titled "Learning as a family affair" documented the structure of the school and how parents are highly involved with their children's education.
[edit] Philosophy
Veritas is run on the philosophy of the National Association of University Model Schools (NAUMS), and focuses on parents being involved in their childs education. It accomplishes this objective by having a schedule of classes at a central location three days a week and letting the students be at home to complete their homework the other two days.
