[edit] Doing Elwin Justice
This stub hardly does Elwin justice. He can perhaps be called a famous, influential, primitivist who argued for tribal rights in the face of encroaching modernity. I turned to this page in the hopes of identifying more activist anthropologists like Elwin. If anybody reads this and knows of some comparable figures who were active elsewhere in the world in the colonial period, please mention them somewhere in the article. I do not have time to do justice to Elwin in this forum myself, sorry. 82.111.242.154 (talk) 19:18, 6 April 2008 (UTC)R.E.D.

- OK. I've taken the liberty to fix some of the most atrocious parts of the page a bit, like the introduction that said inaccurately he was a missionary, but I'm not going to do much more. n.b. this page is still woefully inadequate. 82.111.242.154 (talk) 22:15, 21 May 2008 (UTC)R.E.D.
