This is an embarrassing page. Fulsome praise for Vernon Corea, and a totally off-topic appeal for disaster aid. This is clearly someone's vanity project. I will fix it when I have time. Zora 18:07, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Don't put it back!

Please, please, don't try to turn Wikipedia into a forum for the vanity of the Corea family. It reflects badly on you, and on the people you are attempting to glorify. Keep the self-praise for the websites -- if people are interested, they'll link to them and get to read all the encomiums you are trying to put in Wikipedia. Zora 12:11, 19 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] No more Vernon Corea panegyrics!

You log in from different IPs (schools? libraries? internet cafes?), don't take a username, and continue your efforts to puff Vernon Corea and the Corea family. This is pathetic.

I removed the plug re "Top 5". Out-of-date, and pointless.

As soon as I get a round tuit, I'll see about getting the pages for Vernon Corea's parents deleted. They aren't prominent enough to figure in an encyclopedia. Perhaps your Corea family page ought to go too. Zora 09:17, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Dear Sir ,

I knew Vernon Corea since the 1960s in Sri Lanka (Ceylon , as it was known then) Vernon gave a write up of my group "Family Affair" in I think was 1967 or 1968, a copy of which is attached , under his pen name "Emcee" , which he told me were his wife's initials.

He played my composition "Hail India" in 1983 , when India won the Cricket World Cup, by my Group "Family Affair" on BBC with announcer Geeta Bala.

His son, Ivan Corea informed me of Vernon's funeral , which I attended with a very heart , as I had been trying to contact Vernon since he retired from the BBC .

I shall be grateful if you consider linking my website to your website especially the site which I have only just opened on the "my space" website :-

          www.myspace.com/srilankacricketbaila

The songs about which Vernon wrote in the attached article about our sixties compositions are on the Group's Website:-

                     www.familyaffairmusic.com

on the CD Album "Loving You"

It may interest you to know that after years of trying, we got an airing in 2004 on BBC Radio 2 on Brian Mathews' Saturday Morning Show "Sounds of the 60s".when they played "Hanging Around"

four songs can also be heard on the "My Space" Website

                        www.myspace.com/familyaffairmusiconline

Look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
