Talk:Vermonster
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
to remove this page on lack of notability is absurd. A vermonster deserves it's own wikipedia definition, it is a very unique item and a huge challenge. there are competitions to eat them, that should be enough.
Agreed, if Kool-Aid is allowed its own article, so should the Vermonster.
I agree too.
Most people know Kool-Aid or at least of it, whereas this is a relatively obscure dish, not to mention a menu item. If you could perhaps back it up with more sources, perhaps the competitions the first poster mentioned, or something to affirm its fame, then it would warrant its own article. --Col.clawhammer 08:30, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
The page should absolutely stay. The Vermonster has been featured on numerous television shows.
- Can you find a link, article or any other reference to back that up? Because to date I have yet to find any reference to this except for the interview mentioned on the page and I don't think a television interview necessarily qualifies for a Wikipedia page, otherwise there would be pages for heroic dogs and swindled senior citizens. --Col.clawhammer 00:23, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
After providing numerous contests, first person accounts and other references, I have removed the question of notability from this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.147.152.182 (talk) 13:27, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, it must be notable, I looked it up! Doctuh (talk) 00:18, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] A thing that ticks me off
The one thing about the Vermonster - actually there are two thing that bug me about it is that (1) the high price for the damn thing... but I guess that it's understandible, considering all the ingredients in it.
The other thing is that it's only available at Ben & Jerry Scoop Shops. I'd like to see a Scoop Shop over here in Kennewick. The one problem is that the area I live in is terribly consevative, which would not look well with the company's progressive attitude. Elwin Blaine Coldiron 02:43, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Too much invalid information
Who wrote the entry for the Vermonster? The records given are completely absurd. I did the Vermonster two consecutive years in Charlottesville, Virginia. My team of four finished it in 54.1 seconds. Based on that alone, I refuse to believe any of the times published are the best records in the country and I highly doubt the validity of the facts this person has published on this site.

I question the validity of that claim. That's ~ 5 scoops, 1 ladle of hot fudge, 1 banana, 2.5 scoops of chopped walnuts, a brownie and two scoops of toppings in just under a minute for 4 people to do at the same time. I'll believe it when I see it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.147.153.171 (talk) 07:45, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
