[edit] Please note

this image is not Vermont's official seal. The seal displayed here is not the official seal of Vermont. It is a colorized version of the Great Seal of Vermont based upon colors found in the Coat of Arms of Vermont.

Please direct any questions regarding correct form or display of either the Great Seal of Vermont or the Coat of Arms of Vermont to

Ms. Deborah Markowitz Secretary of State of Vermont Office of the Secretary of State Redstone Building 26 Terrace Street Montpelier, VT 05609-1101

This seal has been colorized (a very lovely job of it too I think) but it is not the official version of the Great Seal of Vermont as designed by Ira Allen, or as approved by the Vermont General Assembly. Neither does it correspond to the colorized version on the German website the file notes show a link with. The Great Seal of Vermont is used for embossing documents and is not to be confused with the Coat of arms of Vermont which is in color by state statute. CApitol3 17:18, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
