Venture Cup

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Venture Cup is a Scandinavian business plan competition, the world's largest of its kind.

The competition consists of several stages, in which participating teams submit their ideas or projects for consideration of a professional jury. Over the course of the competition, ideas develop into investment-ready business plans. At each stage prizes are awarded, and more than half a million euros are given away as prizes across Scandinavia every year.

The purpose of the competition is to promote entrepreneurship within Scandinavian universities as well as to generate high-growth start-up companies. Venture Cup was started by McKinsey & Company in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1998, and exists today as non-profit entities in Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden.
